General
Attendance is currently steady with between 15 and 20 sheddies turning up.
Outside Community projects
Vege Pods Colin Johnstone, Trent and Peter continue to produce these high-quality units with further orders in the pipeline.
Rutherford Street Kindergarten Equipment Refurbishment Rutherford Street Kindergarten recently put-up photographs of the equipment that we repaired on their Facebook page.
Woodbox Repair Wayne Logan replaced the lid on a damaged wood box for an Atawahai resident. We received a very generous donation for this work
Surf boat conversion A disused surf boat is being converted to a nautical style park bench. Denis Moriaty oversees this project which is work in progress
Plaques for Hira School Tashi Wallace and new member Nigel Whinney machined two Macrocarpa plaques to be engraved by Mike Gough. We have now received the information regarding the wording for this project and Mike is geared up to complete the project.

Balloon Back Chairs We were recently given a number of balloon back chairs which can be refurbished and sold as a shed fundraiser
Stamp Collection Container The local stamp collection group have purchased a 10-foot modified container and have asked us to line out the interior. Mitre10 Mega are donating all materials and we will receive a donation to complete the work.
“Teardrop” Caravan Donation A semi completed caravan project has been donated. This project is under the control of Grant Pinkham and will be used as a “Shed” fund raiser
Differential Machining Wayne Logan recently modified a differential component for vintage car enthusiast David Booth. We believe a “smoko” donation may be in order.
Rat Traps Colin, Peter and Trent have another batch of traps in production
International Men’s Day Robert Shade put together a display at the Victory Community Centre assisted by John Ryder, Jeff Sewell, Tashi Wallace and Wayne Logan
Inhouse Projects
Shed tidy up Work continues tidying up the shed and generally eliminating excess stock and rubbish.
Thicknesser /Compound Saw replacements Despe ite a minor glitch with the thicknesser, both of these new machines are proving their worth.
Sabre saw We recently purchased a sabre saw which will be really useful for cutting up the plastic pallets which are used for the production of the Vegepods
Prototypes and Drawings Mark Cox is still updating our prototypes and drawings of our standard projects so that they can be put on file for future use.
Members Projects
Boats Denis Moriaty has now completed successful sea trials of his classic clinker boat ‘Susan” and another more performance orientated craft is the next project. Ian Carpenter’s boat trailer project is still “work in progress”. Richard Mc Bride’s boat project is still work in progress. Richard has not been attending lately due to health issues. Peter Allison has recently returned from an extended stay overseas and will continue with refurbishing the small diesel engine that drove his dive compressor.
General
“A” Frame Colin Johnstone has now completed his A frame unit and has now installed an automatic braking system.
Raised gardens Denis Moriaty has now completed his raised gardens. A team of Sheddies recently assisted Denis in the delivery and installation of the units. units
Seed Propagation unit Stuart Lee has built a seed propagation unit
Doug’s projects Doug Stewart has completed several laminated projects.
Weathervane Jeff Sewell is building a very impressive weathervane. Rumour has it that it may well be a Christmas present for someone
Pen projects Richard Watson is producing some very impressive ornate wooden pens as Christmas presents This project involves some very exacting machining on the lathe
Ron’s Caravan Ron Briggs is back and continues to work on his caravan refurbishing project
Boat Parts Richard Watson gave Wayne Logan some assistance in machining some wooden slide rails for Wayne’s boat.
Safety There are no safety issues at this stage
